As Dave Ferguson reflects ” The difference between a good deck and a great deck, is a team approach and great design. The most successful projects are when the homeowner, designer and builder work together in a collaborative effort before the deck design begins, and many times even before the type of project is even selected.”

We understand that our clients want every aspect of their new Deck, Patio, Deck Cover or Pergola space to be absolutely perfect. Consequently, we take time to listen to the clients design goals, architectural ideas, and concerns about budget. Rather than just a business arrangement, the entire building process is a mutual partnership. We have a standard process, and we can customize it to the client and the project.

The Process – Introductory Meeting, On-Site Meeting, Pre- Construction Agreement, Construction Contract, Project Construction, Clean- UP & Finalize for Possession.

DAVE FERGUSON OWNER

Dave started building decks in the 1980’s, but then had a near death experience falling off a third story deck due to a rotten handrail. After spending nine days in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, and other physical complications he came back and was determined to never have that happen to anyone he worked with – friend, family, coworker or customer.
So he started building quality homes and decks in Portland, Oregon almost 30 years ago. Today as the owner of Skyline Deck, Dave has an intense desire, commitment and responsibility to provide his clients with the best service and products available on the market. This shows in the long list of satisfied clients and being a Trex Platinum Pro Contractor.

When he’s not behind his desk at Skyline headquarters or slinging a screw gun out in the field, you’ll find Dave spending time with his daughter or at the gym pumping iron.

I want you to know what a terrific job your crew did in taking down our old deck and installing the new one. Justin and Nathan led the way, and they couldn’t have been more professional. They were quiet when working, polite when conversing with me, and our untrained eyes think they did a stellar job.

I know you replaced a lot of wood that had rotted, etc., and I thank you for that. Also, thank you so much for agreeing to come back and paint the stairs and other wood surfaces.

Brad Crawford has also done a great job in setting the stage and keeping us abreast of the progress along the way. He always answered my emails and telephone calls right away. Communication is key when work is done to one’s home, and your guys were on top of it.

I imagine that Skyline is the most expensive firm in town to install decks, and for the good reason that I am certain you are the best. Thanks again Dave!
